ABOUT OUR FIRST NATION CULTURE and HISTORY KAYAK ADVENTURES
WE WILL PADDLE AT THE SCENE OF RECENT HISTORY, WHERE COMMUNITIES of NATIVES and NON-NATIVES WORKED TOGETHER TO PROTECT A HERITAGE, AND A TRADITIONAL RESOURCE OF HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE.
An incredible recent history has played out here. Industrial harvesters backed by the Ontario Government and Ontario Provincial Police, with ground and air support were involved in a battle that won the heart and support of a community.
In the end, the peaceful figurehead of this battle lives just a breath away from this living monument. He feels the pulse of the river and the land.
We will visit a commemorative monument, possibly meet this man, and perhaps visit the Band Office, to gain insight into this historical period that reaches back generations and forward into the future of Ontario and Canada.
