Millwheel Guitar Shop - Toronto - sales of exclusive, Canadian, hand-made guitars - Wren, Larrive, etc. So influential was this shop that Jean Larrivee even created a model named "The Millwheel". (What a blast. Here various artists like David Wilcox, Raffi, and others would just hang out, and jam.)
Another interesting note was that while in Edomonton, Alberta, while working in the oilfields in the 70's (200 mile north at Swan Hills, in a grizzly preserve), Dave made a visit to the office of (Senator) Tommy Banks, concert master of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. He had a television show called "The Tommy Banks Show". Dave auditioned for Mr. Banks. After he had returned to Toronto, Tommy Banks had made a call to Dave's Edmonton digs. However, he didn't want to return to Edmonton, with it's then minus sixty degree weather.
